SEEDING CRITERIA

Dec 29-30, 2025 • La Crosse Center, WI

Important: It is very important that you enter the correct record, criteria values, and seeding category for each wrestler in your line-up. Failure to do so may result in your wrestler being seeded incorrectly.
1

After that time, you will need to contact Jason Lulloff at (920) 286-1406 or luljas@holmen.k12.wi.us to make any additional changes (roster substitutions, weight class changes, etc.).

1

Upload Your Team's Roster

Upload your team's roster to the Bi-State Classic Tournament in USA Bracketing -- directions can be found here.

2

Verify Participant Information

Once complete, go into the tournament and verify the following in the Participant Info section:

  • Ensure the name of each wrestler is in proper case -- they should not be in all caps.
  • Ensure a record and grade is shown for each wrestler.
3

Enter Seeding Criteria

Seeding criteria and head-to-head information must be entered in USA Bracketing between 12:01 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27. Remember that seeding is determined by the information you enter into USA Bracketing.

  • For each wrestler, enter their results from the 2024 Bi-State Classic, as well as last season's State Tournament.
  • Accurately complete all information in the Criteria Values section.
  • Select a seeding category (1-9) for each wrestler. Click below to view all categories:

To ensure your wrestler is properly seeded, it is very important that you choose the correct category.

Wrestlers in Category 1 are seeded in front of Category 2, wrestlers in Category 2 are seeded in front of Category 3, etc. Therefore, it is important that you select the highest category that applies to your wrestler.

Special Consideration Requests

If you have an instance for special consideration, please submit a Special Consideration Form.

5

Final Seeding Process

Final seeding will be determined electronically, with the seeding committee reviewing all requests for special consideration. Brackets will be drawn at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 28. Any scratches beyond that point will result in a bye -- brackets will not be redrawn.

Head-to-head only becomes relevant for seeding when two wrestlers are seeded right next to one another.

In this case, USA Bracketing will automatically assign the proper seed to the person who won head-to-head.

Wrestler Moves Up:

If a wrestler has beaten a wrestler within one slot above him and has not lost to any wrestler below the wrestler he beat, the wrestler will get moved ahead of the wrestler he beat.

Wrestler Does Not Move:

If a wrestler has beaten a wrestler but lost to another wrestler below the wrestler he beat, that wrestler will not be moved.

No Change:

No change will occur if there are wrestlers between them.
