There are a total of 68 teams participating in this year's Bi- State Classic. New to the tournament this year is Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, while Orono (MN), Pulaski, and Stanley-Boyd decided not to return.

Since the La Crosse Center is closed on Sunday, December 28, we do not have a facility for open practice that night. Therefore, teams checking in that day will need to practice before arriving.

Similar to last year, the girls' tournament will run in conjunction with the boys. On Day 1 (sessions 1 and 2), the boys will compete in the Main Arena, while the girls will compete in South Hall. On Day 2 (sessions 3 and 4), both boys and girls will compete in the Main Arena.

Submit a Team Picture – Due Friday, December 19

Continuing our past practice, the tournament program will include a team picture and roster for each team. While the roster will be pulled directly from USA Bracketing, all teams are required to provide a team picture – no team write-up is required. Your team picture does not need to be professionally done, just done in good taste.

Pictures should be submitted through the website by going to the "BOYS EVENT" tab, clicking on "FOR BOYS' COACHES" from the dropdown menu, and then selecting "SUBMIT TEAM PICTURE."

If you have both a boys' team and a girls' team, please submit separate pictures.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact Kathy Lulloff at (920) 917-0387 or cklulloff@gmail.com.

Enter Line-Ups and Records in USA Bracketing – Due by Noon on Wednesday, December 24

All team line-ups and records must be entered in USA Bracketing by noon on Wednesday, December 24. After that time, USA Bracketing will be locked down and you will not be able to make any changes to your line-up.

Additional changes (i.e., roster substitutions, weight class changes, etc.) will need to be done by contacting Jason Lulloff at (920) 286-1406 or luljas@holmen.k12.wi.us.

Enter Seeding Criteria and Head-to-Head in USA Bracketing – 12:01 pm on December 24 thru 10:00 am on December 27

All criteria including head-to-head will need to be entered in USA Bracketing. Please make sure you choose the correct category for each wrestler so that they are properly seeded.

Additional information about seeding criteria can be found on the website – please go to the "BOYS EVENT" tab, click on "FOR BOYS' COACHES" from the dropdown menu, and then select "SEEDING CRITERIA."

As a reminder, there will be no seeding meeting – brackets will be seeded electronically through USA Bracketing.

Coaches are asked to complete a "Special Consideration" questionnaire for those rare situations where there are extenuating circumstances that should be considered during the seeding process. The questionnaire can be found on the Bi-State Classic website – please go to the "BOYS EVENT" tab, click on "FOR BOYS' COACHES" from the dropdown menu, and then select "SPECIAL CONSIDERATION."

Head-to-head only becomes relevant for seeding when two wrestlers are seeded right next to one another. In this case, USA Bracketing will automatically assign the proper seed to the person who won head- to-head. However, no change will occur if there are wrestlers between them.

Final Deadline for Changes – 8:00 am on Sunday, December 28

All changes need to be done by contacting Jason Lulloff at (920) 286-1406 or luljas@holmen.k12.wi.us no later than 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 28.

Brackets will be drawn at 9:00 a.m. Any scratches beyond that point will result in a bye – brackets will not be redrawn.

It is the coach's responsibility to review their line-up and ensure that it is correct to the best of their knowledge.

Sign Up for SportsYou App

This year, we will again be using the SportsYou app to communicate with coaches throughout the tournament. If you signed up last year, you should see this year's tournament when you go into the app. If not, please sign up prior to the tournament.

Teams may pick up their packets on Sunday, December 28, between 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Raddison Hotel lobby or Monday morning at team check-in located in the La Crosse Center South Hall/Ballroom Lobby.

Each packet will include five entry pass lanyards for coaches/ team personnel. Additional passes may be purchased if needed.

Up to 14 wrestlers per team will be allowed in for weigh-ins. Teams will weigh in by weight class, with wrestlers receiving their lanyard at the scale once they make weight.

The coaches' meeting will be held in the Raddison Hotel at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28. Attendance can be done either in person or virtually – a survey regarding your plans for attendance will be sent in the near future so we can plan accordingly.

Note that we have open practice times in the La Crosse Center scheduled as follows:

🕐
Monday, December 29

6:15 - 7:15 a.m.

🕐
Tuesday, December 30

6:30 - 7:45 a.m.

Important: Please clear the mats at the end of the practice sessions so that mats can be cleaned before competition begins. Also, please do not run sprints on the end mats, as this causes the mats to separate.

Please let your parents and other spectators know that the Bi- State website includes information regarding hotels, the La Crosse Center and parking ramp procedures, and tickets.

Hopefully we've answered all your questions between this and the other information available on the website. If not, please contact one of the event staff and we will be happy to assist you.

Wishing you and your team a successful tournament and season.
